Social Change

The media is progressing rapidly day by day and so is the enthusiasm of youth. Every youth today wants to use all of the media resources and it may be because we have so many options. However, We are using all these websites and joining different causes but still unable to make a huge change why?
On the Internet we see thousands of things everyday but we just pass them and search for the things we need  so that's why we do not take things as serious, on Internet, as we would in real. A few months ago I saw a documentary about digitalizing books and the main concern about it was that people are turning into cursory readers which means reading with haste and scant attention to detail. So if we even do not read books with the same interest and attention on a digital screen then how would we pay attention to something which does not relate to us at all? Why would we care if someone is protesting somewhere? we wont even believe it at first and even if we do we will think that non of my friends are going for it so may be its not that important. There are so many websites and issues out there that now we are almost lost in choosing and following them. We are almost as confused as Shakespeare Hamlet was "To be or not to be".

In the article by Sarah Perez there is this websites example which shows a picture and asks if the person is HIV pos or not, is it really effective in any way?
I believe it would have been more beneficial to spread the awareness in person instead of Internet because how many people will be so free to stop by every website and check every message. And anyways its a pretty well known disease its not any thing new for the people to be amazed with.

  1. It seems that there is always more and more content online as each day goes by. It can make things difficult when one is deciding what issues to support or what website has the best information.

I think choices are always helpful in the end.
